Did you ever feel an Out of Body Experience?

An out-of-body experience (OBE) is one in which a person seems to perceive the world from a location outside their physical body. Those who have experienced OBE say they can leave their physical form and float above it as if they were in a state of lucid dreaming. For some there are no precursors they don’t hear buzzing or notice any sensations, without warning they are suddenly aware they are outside their bodies. OBE’s occur during altered consciousness when brain waves are in highly relaxed patterns, such as during delta, alpha, or theta waves.

They tend to occur as a person is falling asleep or during sleep and in some cases during near-death experiences.

There is no conclusive scientific explanation for OBE’s to date, but most researchers believe the strange experience to be caused by different psychological and neurological factors. This experience is not at all paranormal but rather more like hallucination caused by a perturbed brain which can’t compute different flows of sensory information. When one experiences an OBE for the first time there is likely to be a feeling of fear for your physical incarnation, others may feel curiosity or excitement.

As your soul is perfectly safe as you travel outside your body it is important to recognise the fear, release it, relax into the sleep paralysis as your body will continue to do everything it needs until you are able to control it consciously again. Sleep paralysis is one of the first signs of OBE which creates an overall heaviness throughout the body, it is the gateway to OBE’s and most people using sleep paralysis can generate OBE’s intentionally. There are some who refer to OBE’s as astral projections, however, there are some key differences between both.

Astral projection involves an intentional effort to make your consciousness travel out of your body towards a spiritual plane or dimension.Whereas OBEs tend to be unplanned, and rather than travelling your consciousness is said to simply hover or float above the physical body. OBE’s are recognised within the medical community, while Astral projections are considered more a spiritual practice.  With Astral Projection our senses are more refined and usually such projections tend to end as if going downstairs or falling or flying towards earth. Meditation can also trigger voluntary astral projections. While similarities are reported among astral travellers, all OBEs tend to be unique with experiences never the same. Like all forms of psychic and supernatural abilities, OBEs and astral travel should be something to treasure, a gift from the Universe to serve your highest and greatest good.
