Can I Learn How to be a Psychic?

Most people at some point in their lives have thought about psychism: how it could have answers for our futures or give us the information we need to face our problems head on. Since the industry has become so saturated, some of us are only familiar with the phony psychics whose abilities are often exaggerated and confounded in movies.

All of us who are aware of psychism, however, have probably considered what it would be like to use abilities like tarot reading and clairvoyance, and to harness them for the benefit of ourselves and others. Because everyone innately possesses these natural abilities, all that’s needed to learn how to be a psychic is much dedication and training. For some psychics, the chance to nurture their abilities from a young age wasn’t an issue. Perhaps they had supportive parents or found some chance to understand psychism early on.  Not all psychics get this chance, and some discover their abilities later on – which is fine too.

Learning how to be a psychic and learning to harness psychic abilities are two different things, though. Being a professionally paid psychic means working with the emotions and lives of others and should come after a great deal of training – like weekly courses alongside a great deal of practice.

Psychic abilities work just like any other ability. While one of us is a natural-born soccer player or chess player or golfer even, another one of us is born with the organic ability of becoming a great psychic. Except in the case of psychism, the chance of this person having their skills noticed and nurtured from a young age is much less likely. Many of us could be natural psychics and not even realize it. But it’s never too late to start working on these abilities, and there are various ways of measuring and practicing these skills.

    Ways to Practice Psychic Abilities

Start with the Fundamentals: One useful way to start developing psychic abilities is to initially focus on just a few core subjects. Rather than feeling encumbered by too many aspects of psychism at once, start with psychometry and clairvoyance, for example.

Psychometry is fun and great for beginners to practice. Simply hold a high-energy object with deep concentration, close your eyes and attempt to see, hear or sense anything relating to its owner. Flea markets and antique stores are always hot locations for high-energy items.

Clairvoyance can be practiced with easy visualization exercises. One fun way is by carefully examining an object’s every detail, then closing your eyes and seeing if you can visualize it with your third eye, down to its every intricacy. Once you’ve completed one object just move onto the next. This should be done with something natural like flowers or sea shells.

Meditate: Anyone that’s serious about nurturing their psychic abilities should meditate every day for at least 15 minutes. Not only does it help to keep our minds clear, which is important for practice, but it also increases energetic vibration. If you’re vibrating at a lower frequency, then you’re not in connection to yourself or the energy of others. A higher spirit energy is needed and if meditation alone isn’t enough, taking the time for long walks through nature is as effective.

Studying: Being a psychic is a commitment and requires a lot of time and attitude devoted to it, but this doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be fun. Consistent practice and learning are necessary but focus on the areas that are more interesting at first and the abilities that seem to come more naturally than others. Take courses and chat with likeminded people in the community about your journey and theirs and see how you can help each other. There is a ton of great resources for psychics online.
